What is Sunflower Memories?

Every day holds a memory, some make us smile and some make us cry. Each one is a treasure and means so much to us personally. Although our loved ones are no longer here the memories are never far away.

This summer, as part of our Sunflower Memories appeal, we would like to fill our hospice garden with your special memories along with many others. We have beautiful yellow sunflower shaped markers, each one will bear the name of someone to be remembered.

The sunflowers will be displayed in little wheelbarrows painted a delightful bright yellow, creating a wonderful warm glow in our tranquil garden.

Under normal circumstances we would be inviting you to join us for our event which is due to be held on 2 August in the hospice gardens. At the time of writing the restrictions imposed due to coronavirus means that we may not be able to host our event in the normal way, especially not if social distancing is still in place. However, we will still display all the sunflowers but we will need to wait for further guidance from the government before we can put final plans in place. If you would like to be kept informed about the event, then please tick the box on the form and we can keep you updated.

Last year our Sunflower Memories appeal raised over £12,500. Due to the impact of coronavirus on both our services and our fundraising activities, with key events postponed or cancelled, we would be absolutely delighted to achieve this amount again this year. We have increased our services to help our colleagues in the NHS cope with the pandemic, so your sunflower dedication will make a difference now more than ever.
